The question every host asks before ordering: how many kilos? Pick the number of people and the way you will cook, and the calculator gives the weight in kilos. Choose the species and it adds an estimate at today's price.

A whole fish loses about half its weight to the head, bones and guts, so we allow around 450 g per adult.
Before you rely on the number
- These are shopping estimates, not dietary advice: raw weight before cleaning, per adult, rounded up to the next quarter kilo.
- Count two children as one adult.
- If fish is the only dish on the table choose big eaters; with plenty of starters choose light.
- The cost estimate uses today's price per kilo; cleaning at a fixed price per kilo and delivery are added at checkout.
